Vlog 17 – Preparing Your House for Photographs: Exterior [VIDEO]

This is the final video in our series on “Preparing Your Alexandria Home for Sale for Photos”. In the last video, I covered setting up your bedrooms and master bedrooms. This video will touch on what steps you can take to ensure the exterior of your home is ready for the photo shoot.

Keep in mind, the suggestions we’re discussing are designed to provide you with the highest return on invest.

First: 24-48 hours before the photos are scheduled to be taken, take care of the landscaping. Cut your grass, clear your sidewalks, edge the landscaping, add fresh plants if you need to, whatever it takes to make sure your landscaping looks like it’s fresh and well cared for. We will provide plenty of notice for the photography scheduling and outline the expectations for completion in our listing agreement.

Second: Move your gardening equipment, clutter, patio stuff out of view. When photos are taken, and people see the tools and such cluttering the space they will assume that there is no place for their own tools, even if you don’t have a storage shed, find a place out of the photo space to stash them until after photos are taken. This is marketing. Marketing is about selling a story or experience. Don’t forget to organize the garage.

Third: If you have a decently sized entryway, put a bouquet of fresh and colorful flowers in that space. A small shelf or table inside the door is a great place to utilize this tip. Flowers are welcoming and pleasing to the eye. This tip will increase the positive vibes potential buyer feel when they walk in the home.

I hope you enjoyed our series. With a successful plan, you can increase the return on investment you receive from beautiful photographs.
