Mount Vernon Woods is one of the few schools in the area that offer part-time preschool. Morning PreK starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 11:50 a.m. Afternoon PreK starts at 11:50 a.m. and ends at 3:10 p.m.

If you need to be at work by 8:30 that could present some challenges for you, especially if you’re commuting to the District or the Pentagon.

Mount Vernon Woods offers SACC which is a before and after-school program has with the Office for Children of Fairfax County. However, I have to warn you that SACC often times has a waiting list that’s months long. Check out the SACC website to see if there are spots currently available.

If you are unable to get your child signed up for SACC there are a number of private before and after care programs in the area that will drop off and pick up your child.
