You’ll become familiar with quite a bit of paperwork when selling your home. They’ll be listing documents, disclosure forms, as well as, a few questions.
Legal contracts can be confusing, but your real estate agent is trained to understand and explain these forms. Be sure to read them over with your agent before signing them.
Informal Paperwork When Selling Your Home
Make a list of your top 10 reasons you LOVE living in this home. We don’t want the reasons you think the buyers will appreciate because buyers can already see them. What things make you love the home, what little quirks have you found that are enjoyable? For example, the beautiful sunsets you see from your dining room while eating dinner, the friendly neighborhood, or the local markets.
This top 10 list will be used to market your home and make it stand apart from all other homes for sale in your area.
Let us know the date you want to go live on MLS. We will need about a week to prep the home to go on the market, including decluttering and cleaning the space for photos, video, and eventually for showings.
- Change social media settings to “friends only”.
We want your privacy protected, and people will google you and your home to see what they can find. If they know about your new promotion, for example, we will lose valuable negotiation power.
- Make a list of updates
Have you made any improvements to your home within the last few years? Renovated the kitchen, updated the master bath, new carpet, new HVAC make a list of these and any other updates you’ve made.
